  أصبح انقطاع الكهرباء موضوعا للحديث بين الجميع ، فكيف نتحدث عن هذه المسألة باللغة الإنجليزية؟ "النور قطع" هو أول تعبير نقوله أو نسمعه عند انقطاع الكهرباء فجأة ، و بالإنجليزية يمكن أن نقول: There’s a power cut. أو The power has gone out. أو The power went out. على خلاف بين الإنجليز و الأمريكان. أو قد نقول: The power is out. و من الكلمات المستخدمة أيضا للتعبير عن انقطاع ا ل كهرباء: blackout power outage power failure أحيانا تضطر الجهات المسؤولة لتطبيق خطة لتخفيف الأحمال: introduce a load shedding programme فعندها نعرف أن الكهرباء ستنقطع في وقت معين لأن هناك جدول زمني معروف: load shedding cycle فمثلا تنقطع الكهرباء عندنا بين الساعة الواحدة ظهراً و الرابعة عصراً ، فهذه: load shedding slot و لذلك فأنت مضطر للاعتذار لمعلمك عن حضور درس اللغة الإنجليزية عبر الإترنت في هذا التوقيت: Sorry, but we can’t have our lesson at 2 pm because our slot on the load shedding cycle is 1 to 4 pm. و أخيراً فنأمل أن تعلق شركة الكهرباء: utility company ...

Why 'school'? It’s a school in the sense that it’s concerned with education. As a school, it involves working to long term schedules. As a school, it involves achieving educational goals through structured activities. What makes it different from a conventional school? Being nonmainstream means, there’s less focus on testing and more on learning. Progress is more easily measured individually against each child’s potential. Priority is given to long-term learning goals rather than short-term – and rather short-sighted – exam-passing goals. Economically and financially The setup and running of the school is motivated by making a living and not by boosting a bottom line. Philosophy I believe education is a heavy industry; it is about human beings, the most complex of beings. An educated person is capable of making decisions and choices for themselves as well as contributing meaningfully to humanity. Guaranteeing a job is more suited as a goal for the educated person...

Why Focusing On Exams Only Stifles Learning And Ruins Our Life

  Learning is a lifelong innate human capacity. We are able to survive because we are able to learn. Education is organising a certain environment to help achieve certain learning goals . While learning, by definition, is an internal process, education is externally organised. As such, its goals hardly take the needs of the learners into account. Instead, educational goals are politically motivated; it is the ministries of education that set the goals of education in any country. Paradoxically, teacher training programmes invariably highlight the importance of taking learners’ needs into consideration while planning lessons and courses. For numerous reasons, exams have become central to education all over the world. Although standardized exams are not all too bad, they should play a less central role in education, not least because they can easily impede learning and halt creativity.
